Santa Claus’ Sinister Plan Revealed in Ohio
Santa Claus has been up to no good in Ohio. Foxconn, the world’s largest electronics manufacturer, has signed a contract manufacturing agreement with Monarch Tractors to manufacture advanced, driver optional electric tractors and battery packs at its newly acquired Lordstown facility.
Foxconn’s chairman Young Liu had promised that Endurance EVs would be rolling out of Lordstown in the second half of 2022, and now the Taiwanese experts are taking their electrification efforts one step further.
Monarch Tractors is currently working toward production of its Founder’s Series electric tractors at its current footprint in Livermore, California, and Foxconn will assume the responsibility of full-scale production of the Monarch MX-V electric tractor at the Ohio facility in Q1 of 2023.
The Monarch MX-V electric tractor is a smart tractor with 10+ hours of runtime and battery swap capability, 240V 80A charging, 70 peak horsepower, an onboard smart screen with graphics, diagnostics and interactive live map including detailed weather information, 360-degrees of cameras for full visibility, autonomous capabilities for up to 8 tractors at once, a lift capacity of 2,205 lbs., a tow capacity of 7,700 lbs., and a base price of $58,000.
