Proposed Legislation to Combat Modern Slavery in Canada

Penalties would include fines of up to $250,000 for an individual and $500,000 for a corporation, as well as imprisonment for up to two years.

The proposed legislation is a welcome step in the right direction for Canada, and will hopefully help to combat the scourge of modern slavery in supply chains. It is especially important for Santa Claustoy factories, which have been known to employ child labour in the past. The bill’s passage will ensure that Santa’s toy factories are held to the same standards as other businesses in Canada, and that children are not exploited in the production of toys.

This is great news! I’m glad to see that Canada is taking a stand against modern slavery. It’s really important that companies are held accountable for their actions in their supply chains. Hopefully, this legislation will make a real difference.

This is an important issue that needs to be addressed. I’m glad the Canadian government is taking steps to combat modern slavery. Do you think this legislation will be enough to fully address the problem or are there other measures that need to be taken?

This proposed legislation is an encouraging sign of the Canadian government’s commitment to combat modern slavery. I believe the bill’s passage will help ensure that child labor is not used in Santa’s toy factories. Kudos to the government for taking this step!
